Waste Vegetable Oil to Energy Project This project proposes to collect used waste vegetable oil (WVO) produced all campus dining facilities and burn it in commercially available multi-fuel waste oil burners in the Wyman Park Complex power plant on the Homewood campus. This represents a double cost savings to the school. Once the project has come to fruition, Johns Hopkins University will no longer have to pay for disposal of the WVO. Furthermore, the WVO has an energy content comparable to that of No. 2 fuel oil; however, combustion will result in "net zero" emissions. This will improve the environmental footprint of Johns Hopkins University. Contact Information: Julian Rosenberg |
